Monster "She hasn't moved." Ezekiel peered into the dark room, eyeing the lump of blankets on the bed in the corner of the room. "It's been two weeks and she hasn't moved." A tiny, round face poked out of the cocoon of quilts Layla had wrapped her self in three months before. Her face as pale and empty as the room around her, golden eyes sullen and hollow, stared at the wall across from the bed. Zeke had passed the room several time over the past few weeks while he was visiting and had seen the saMonster


The BeginingI was seven when they started taking children. I remember it because it was right after my birthday that everyone started to get sick.The Begining
First, it was the little ones; I remember hearing their cries one night, doors opening and slamming shut than opening again, nurses rushing past our beds with armfuls of blankets and fresh sheets and needles, some carried screaming babies, their tiny legs kicking violently in the air, like a turned over deer trying to kick herself up- then a nurse would pass by with a bundle wrapped in sheets, little arms dangling down from the linens, and tears ran down the nurses face.
